MITCHELL CASH JR.

VIRGINIA BEACH - Mitchell Cash Jr., 54, of the 5500 block of Dunloe Drive, died Dec. 5, 2000, at a local hospital.

Born in Gary, Ind., he was a graduate of Auburn University, Class of 1968. He had been employed with Unidyne Inc. as an underwater cable specialist. Mr. Cash was a member of Bayside Presbyterian Church and played an active role in church affairs, including teaching an adult Sunday School class, communion preparations and was instrumental in starting its Saturday Night Alive service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his father, Mitchell Cash Sr. and his wife, Marie, of Niceville, Fla.; two sisters, Laura Dess Mitchell and her husband, William Aldredge III, of Vista, Calif., and Sarah Cash Relfe and her husband, Perry, of Birmingham, Ala.; along with several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Bayside Presbyterian Church by Dr. Richard Keever. Burial will be private and at a later date.

Finding the memorial section somehow shocking. Survived Viet Nam. He was a good buddy and our mothers were good friends... Very sad.
